Prologue

Warning: If you are reading this, then you are about to embark on an emotional and hysterical rollercoaster of thrills, laughs, and maybe tears; also you prob are really bored and have absolutely nothing better to do... As this would be my first post, i think it is a good idea to start off with a bit of history about my life, dreams, and aspirations. Hence why ive named this blog, "Prologue," due in part to my major love of films in general. Again I want to remind you; The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody said it was a happy little tale... if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied...Here we go!

It was a little more than 19 years ago that Lauren and Michael Kiley received their most precious gift. I, Michael Kiley (or little Michael in comparison to my dad), was born in Long Island and have lived there ever since. From a young age, i showed an interest in three things; Movies, Math, and Girls... My parents often tell a story about how we were at a family party when i was 3. I was absolutely miserable and nothing could cheer me up. My parents were about to take me home when supposedly my uncle showed up with his new busty blonde girlfriend. I walked away from my parents and "supposedly" ran towards the beautiful girl to give her a hug. My dad says it was the proudest moment of his life because his son showed heterosexual traits afterall. Which brings me to my next point...

I've grown up in a family of politically incorrect morons...Now i'm not exactly saying my family is stupid, far from it. They are all highly educated and hard working people. However their sense of humor has and will always be stronger than others...which is perhaps why i am the way i am. Both my mother and father had 3 siblings each; their parents had 3 siblings or more as well. So from generation to generation, these people have been dealing with so many different personalities that something snapped. Because, frankly, they are all hilarious. I consider it a positive to have a family full of joking baffoons than a family full of serious baffoons. However it can get somewhat annoying when my mom asks if my beard tickles my girlfriend's thighs...

So lets see...i mentioned earlier my strong love of movies. I am not quite sure why i have grown to love movies so much. It might be the moving images or the crazy effects. It could be how a single film can make you laugh, cry, and rethink your life all in a 2 hour span. For some reason, as a child i grew to trust films more than people, and that is definately where my love began. Although i have what people tell me is a desirable personality (not to mention im incredibly good looking) i had problems making friends when i was younger. I was one of those smart kids you see in class but dont really know much about, and when you talk to him you are surprised at what you find. So during some years when it was hard to socialize, i relied on movies to keep me sane. Hell during 7th grade i watched the Lord of the Rings movies like 50 times each (absolutely no exageration; i counted)...

If you are getting tired of reading this i completely understand, but trust me there is a point to all of this and it will soon be concluded...

This reliance in movies is important for a few reasons. Ironically, although i used movies to separate myself from people, it eventually became the reason that i made some of the best friends of my life. I remember winning two tickets on a radio show to see Spiderman 2 at a local premiere...4 days before it came out!!! Which, btw, is the reason that i quoted Spiderman in the first paragraph...if you didnt notice! I was getting to the age where i didn't want to go anywhere with my parents so i thought about asking someone from school to go with me. Because of my desire to see this movie, i actually tried to socialize and make friends with people. I eventually invited Dennis Roby to go to the movie with me...and soon after we became good friends. It was he who later introduced me to Poker (which goes along with my interest in math). At the end of the 8th grade, Roby began teaching me how to play this style of poker that was gettin a lot of attention at the moment. Texas Hold'em was all the craze in 2003 after the invention of the card cam. It was playing poker with roby and all of his friends that introduced me to some of my best and most lasting friends. Hell, it eventually lead to me meeting my girlfriend, whom i have been with for almost 3 years now. Poker pretty much changed my life, socially anyways... Hence why, if you come back to this blog ever again, poker will most likely be the main topic.

Now that i have wasted a considerable amount of your time, telling you entirely way too much information, im gonna get going...I've got a large calc assignment to finish before my 8AM class tomorrow...FML
